Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced tennis player you need certain items of tennis equipment & accessories in order to enjoy your game to the fullest. It doesn’t matter if you’re a social tennis player who plays once a week with friends or if you’re a competitive player who practices during the week & plays matches on weekends, the fact is that you’ve got to take your tennis equipment & accessories with you to the court each time. The logical choice to carry all this tennis gear to the tennis court would be a good quality tennis bag. I want to introduce you to three of the best tennis bags. Depending on your needs, you can choose one of them. I chose my picks based on three size categories: compact, medium and large sized tennis bags.
Having your own tennis bag will not only carry your tennis gear and accessories around, but also will give you a morale boost as you feel like an actual tennis player. May not know it, but playing tennis requires a lot of equipment. You can have a look at the full list in our Ultimate Tennis Equipment List where we give you great product recommendations too.
We’ve also scoured the internet to find you the best online tennis training to make a massive improvement to your tennis game. Click on the button below and start becoming a better tennis player.
While purchasing a bag for tennis, you must give highest priority to quality. Tennis accessories are expensive, and you want them to remain safe. Low quality bags will not be able to give the protection you need for your tennis equipment. Moreover, bags that are designed specifically for tennis are better choices for this purpose. You shouldn’t just buy any random backpack and try to use it as your tennis bag.
Let’s take a look at my picks.

If you’re a social tennis player who plays once a week or less, then this backpack is just fine for you. Head is one of the best brands when it comes to tennis gear and they have also done a brilliant job with this backpack. The HEAD Tour Team Tennis Backpack looks simply amazing. I was blown away by the design and aesthetics when I first saw it and I am quite sure you’ll like it too.
As it is a tennis backpack, it is not going to offer as much space as a regular tennis bag. So if you are planning on carrying 4-5 rackets at a time, you should look for something more spacious. The HEAD Tour Team Tennis Backpack comes with one large compartment which is large enough for two rackets alone or 1 racket along with your other tennis gear.
Head assures us that you will keep your rackets like new if you carry them in the Tour Team Tennis Backpack. Apart from the main compartment, there is an integrated shoe compartment for you to store those sweaty, smelly shoes after a long game of tennis. It’s always a great idea keeping your shoes separate from your tennis clothes and other accessories.
The longevity of this backpack is the best feature in my opinion. Once you buy this, you can forget about purchasing any other tennis backpack for a number of years.
Pros
- Accommodates up to two rackets
- Separate shoe compartment
- Top quality fabric
- Beautiful design
- Easy to carry with padded shoulder straps
Cons
- If you have more accessories, you have to sacrifice the space for one racket
HEAD Core 6R Tennis Racket Bag: Medium Sized
Overview
HEAD Core 6R Tennis Bag Review

Style: Tennis Duffle Bag
Size: 30 x 12.5 x 11 inches(760 x 320 x 280mm)
Volume(L): 50
Racquet Capacity: 6
Shoe Compartment: No
Compartments: 2 Main
Pockets: 1 Small Zip Accessories Pocket
Padded Shoulder Straps: Yes
Outside Material: 100% Polyester
Inside Material: 100% Polyester
If you need to carry 4-6 tennis rackets for your trip to the tennis court then you need something bigger than a backpack. The HEAD Core 6R Tennis Bag is my choice for players with exactly this requirement. The design of this duffle bag is quite simple. It has two big main compartments where you can keep all your tennis essentials, including 6 rackets!
There is a separate accessory pocket at the exterior side to keep smaller items like keys or phones. If you want to carry shoes and apparel, you’ll have to sacrifice the space for two rackets in the main compartment. However, 4 rackets is usually enough for intermediate level tennis players. After all, changing your racket too frequently during a match is not good for consistency either.
The zippers in this duffle bag are top notch. I personally have one of these, and none of the zippers ever got stuck or gave me a difficult time to move them. The exterior is made of top quality polyester fabric. The Head Core 6R Tennis Bag is built to last, and it will last if it isn’t abused by it’s owner.
Pros
- Carries up to 6 rackets
- Adequate space for smaller accessories
- Premium quality polyester fabric in the exterior
- Solid zippers
- Padded interior to keep rackets safe
- Easy to carry Shoulder Straps
Cons
- The interior compartments are not adjustable
Wilson Super Tour Tennis Bag: Large Tennis Bag
Overview
Wilson Super Tour 2 Tennis Bag Review
Overall Rating: 4.6 out of 5
Style: Tennis Duffle Bag
Size: 30 x 11.5 x 13inches(760 x 290 x 330mm)
Racquet Capacity: 9
Shoe Compartment: No
Compartments: 2 Main – 1 with Dual Air Vents & 1 with Thermoguard Lining
Pockets 1: 2 Small Fleece-lined Side Accessories Pockets
Pockets 2: 2 Large Exterior Personal Items Storage Side Pockets
Pocket 3: Hidden Interior Zip Pocket for Valuables
Padded Shoulder Straps: Yes
Material: Canvas Weave Polyester with TPU Coating
If you don’t feel comfortable without having all your tennis accessories at your disposal when you go on a tennis tour, then the Wilson Super Tour Tennis Bag should be your perfect companion. This duffle bag has four different versions, and the largest one can carry up to 15 rackets! Well, this is overkill in my opinion because I haven’t met any player who carries 15 rackets at a time. But with any tennis equipment it’s often personal choice & personal preference, so I’m sure there are tennis players who like a very large tennis bag to store all their tennis gear & more. For most heavy duty tennis players, the 9 racket hold version of this bag would do just fine.
Extra Features
Apart from racket compartments, it has 2 fleece line side accessory pockets, 2 exterior side pockets for personal storage, and adequate space for apparel, shoes, and other accessories. You can keep your accessories organized with the removable interior divider. There is a hidden zippered pocket in the inside to keep your valuables safe. To keep your goodies secure, it comes with dual air vents in the one main compartment and a thermoguard lining in the other. The air vent are to help with odor caused by perspiration soaked clothes & gear while the thermoguard lining protects your equipment from harsh temperature changes on the one hand or to keep your cold hydration drinks cool on the other hand.
This bag is made of red canvas weave polyester with a TPU coating. You won’t have to worry about its durability.
Pros
- Massive space in main compartments
- Separate compartments for other side accessories
- Premium quality zippers
- Adjustable interior space
- Padded shoulder straps
- Air vents and thermoguard lining
- TPU Coating
Cons
- A bit heavy
